Style Story // Steph

Steph is one of my closest friends who I feel free to say anything to.  She is such a truthful person who is friendly, caring, bubbly and positive. Whenever Steph wears an outfit out I noticed how some of her characteristics are reflected through it. She wears a lot of soft, flowing fabrics that are quite loos on the figure these traits reflecting her sweet and caring side.

GET TO KNOW HER

Name: Steph

Age: 18

Star Sign: Libra

Ambition: Steph  would love to travel and create a positive impact on the world while becoming a journalist.

Fav Shop: Tony Bianco (she loves shoes so much)

Social Media: She does not have any form of social media as it does not appeal to her

Steph - " I don't really know what influences what I wear...just different moods that I might be in."

CLOTHING

Top = Top Shop (I got to say majority of my wardrobe is from here)
Skirt = Op Shop

ACCESSORIES

Sunglasses = Dolce and Gabbana
Handbag = Status Anxiety
Jewellery = Jolie and Deen (love , love, love this store)

What I've gained from being around her style is the realisation that people who are shorter can wear jumpsuits and maxi skirt without looking even shorter! As well as allowing myself to gain confidence in this style enough so I myself can wear one as I do like their appearance.

I hope you guys liked this idea of a blog post! If you would like to see any more of Steph's outfits like a clubbing/ nigh outfit then just comment down below. :)

I hope you have a good day or night wherever you are in this world!

Review // Too Faced (lipstick)

Recently I purchased  a Too Faced Melted Liquified lipstick in the shade 'Melted Nude' which is my first from there lipstick range.

The formula is very smooth with the sensation of it being thick. The colour is very pigmented and I find it's so easy to apply, I personally think majority of people wouldn't need a lip-liner for it.  When the formula dries it has quite a matt finish with a soft texture. It does however stick and heighten the sight of the lines in your lips like matt lipsticks do.

when I wear it I do use this liner from Revlon

Overall I do love this product.

Price = $30 AS

I hope you all have a wonderful day or night wherever you are in this world!

Tips and Tricks // 3 way Bronzer

Hey guys how are you going? Sorry I have not been posting lately school has been so full on but that will all end in another 3 months and then I’ll be constantly blogging which I’m so excited for!
So today I’m sharing 3 different ways I like to use bronzing powder!! J

1.      Lip colour

  •  Block out your lips with foundation, this allowing the shade to come out more pigmented
  • Over it apply some sort of lip balm/ something to just give it a shine

2.      Contour

  • I prefer to use bronzer as a contour because its less of a thick product to put on my face and I like the way I can easily build most products to the intensity I like

Tip: contour up towards your ear, slightly curving to your temple. This gives a sharper contour (don’t forget to blend!)

3.      Eye-shadow

  • Now originally I never thought of using bronzer for this…I don’t know why seem pretty obvious let’s be honest. It’s great if you want a natural look and you’re in a rush.

These three steps together tend to be my go to look for summer as well as when I’m in a rush and I feel like putting on makeup.

Why don’t you guys if you like comment what your favourite bronzer is to recommend to others?
My favourite is the Bahama Mama bronzer by The Balm

Shop the Trend // 70s fashion

Arrr the 70s a decade that involved horrific dancing in the disco craze? And the beginning of The Tom & Jerry Show where even to this day Jerry is beloved? The love for the Tom and Jerry show is not the only thing that has continued into our day and age, oh no, no, no! Flared pants and sleeves, abnormal looking patterns, earth toned colours, A-line skirts, leather and fringing of clothing. Yep that’s right it’s all come back and thankfully modernised (but let’s just hope the bad disco dancing stays away...)

So where can you shop for these modernised trends? Well I have a list for you right here J

  2.   http://www.boohoo.com/aus/looks/springinto70s/icat/springinto70
  3.  http://www.modcloth.com/shop/1970s-fashion (I prefer their jewellery )

The Rule to Colours

Hey guys!

I hope your all having a wonderful day! Recently I’ve been reading a lot more into styling because it may be something I might lean towards in the future. When I was reading I came across something that I though may be very, very handy for some of you guys to know and may just make your life easier when it comes to picking an outfit. Instead of standing in front of a mirror for an hour deciding, do these colours clash? Is the patterned scarf too much? Are people going to think I’m silly if I wear this combination together?...or am I the only one who needs several peoples opinion and is so indecisive…

I assure you though the three-colour rule will help you out with your (my) inability to make decisions on what to wear.

1. One Main Colour

Now from my understanding (correct me if I’m wrong) the main colour is what brings the most attention to that part of an outfit. This colour/ item of clothing is the most bright and/ or patterned of the whole outfit.

Main = jacket ( I also based this piece on texture and pattern)

2.  An Accent Colour

This is the colour that complements the main colour (centred peace) in a flattering way. This is normally selected based on the centred pieces colour and it doesn’t need to be just an item of clothing it could also be an accessory.

Accent = jeans (the jacket was dark navy blue)

3.  A Basic Colour

Now from the name of it, let’s be real, it’s pretty self-explanatory. This item of clothing is a simple colour such as white, grey or black that ties the entire outfit together and brakes up the other two colours.

Basic = white top

So there you have it! This has actually been helping me out so much because I’m always so indecisive! I swear I am so bad at sticking with an outfit. I’m always changing my outfit four times before I settle for an option and before I know it, I look around and it looks like a bomb has hit in my room because my clothes get everywhere!!!

Pease tell me I’m not the only one who experiences this?!

P.S. I also have something exciting to shear with you guys and you will find out about it soon, so don’t miss out and subscribe!!

Help for your Exams :)

Hey guys!

Now I don’t know about you guys, but here in Australia there is only around 4 months until our exams begin for high school. Now considering this is my last year, the whole idea has become daunting and overwhelming as this time the mark counts.

I’m not the one to sit at my desk for hours on end study. That’s just not me. So I love getting all the extra help I can get ensuring I retain the highest amount of information.
Today I am about to share with you my biggest tip when it comes to increasing the amount of recall of information when it comes to your exam.

Research done by psychologist have shown that you are more likely to recall a higher amount of information when your state and context dependent cues are undergoing the same experience in both studying and doing your exam.

Now some of you may be thinking “the heck are you on about?" but to be hones I don’t want to bore you with the details of it in which I learnt in psychology, for now all you need to know is ‘State’ is emotions and ‘context’ is your inner and outer environment.
What I’m trying to say is: make the experience you're having while studying the content as similar as possible to when you need to regurgitate it on paper.

EXAMPLES

1. Listen to a playlist of songs before sitting the exam that are specific to what you listened to while studying for the subject/content (stick to a low number of songs eg. 3-5)
2.   If you’re like me and find yourself drinking coffee while studying, have a cup of coffee before sitting the exam
            3. Wear perfume during studying and then wear it again during the exam
4. Write your notes in a specific colour then use that colour to highlight key words in questions when in the exam

…you guys getting my drift?

But of course if you are following this theory then do not overlap what you are doing while studying for one subject to another, because that can mix up your cues which will lead to difficulty recalling the information.

I really hope this wasn’t too boring to read and that it helps you! Good luck with your exams and tests! To those who have just finished their year course, maybe keep the theory handy for next year and organise your plan.

Comment down below what helps you study so it can not only help myself but others!

My Wish list // Autumn

Hello everyone!!

I’m beginning this new segment based on things that I would like to purchase based on the season. It is based on the trends that I’m seeing or predict will appear in shops. The list is not ranked in any specific order, in case you are wondering.

1. Flared pants…I know some of you may be thinking “what in the world is she thinking!” but I got to say they are growing on me when they are styled right. I see it going well with a midriff black top either thin straps or off the shoulder. Link to >

2. When I saw this cape for the first time I nearly passed out. It looks and feels beautiful. I love how you can wear it casually but at the same time it can dress up an outfit. In autumn I suspect a lot of capes and ponchos will be in trend as it is a progression from kimonos. Link to >

3. I want this skirt so, so bad. On top of my love and want for this skirt and this style of knife pleats, this style in particular will be seen a lot this season. However, I suspect they will have fewer pleats shown on the skirts and they may be longer. This will be evident especially in plain fitting pencil skirts.   link to >

4  I’ve recently been loving the look of a big roll neck line, I think they are super cute. I would love to be wearing one of these pieces now! Especially considering they are coming into trend. Link to >

5. I really want this floppy hat. I would really like this to be in either a tan or an earthy toned colour. This is why I have not purchased this hat yetLink to >

I’m sorry for the fact that these products are only from two different stores! Nevertheless, I have really been liking these products lately and if I do find anything else that I like, I will either tweet or Instagram about it when I see it.  If you like this idea of a “wish list” post, then please comment down below on which item of clothing you like the most and what you have been seeing trending in stores.

Review // a BIG pore SOLVER

I have been wanting this primer for so long and now I finally got it! I was so happy when Smashbox released their new primer because they had cancelled the production of their previous version of a pore minimizer in their primer range, but now they have brought it back! YAY!
Now I have quite big pores so when it comes to putting foundation on it doesn’t help at all and I have been looking for a way to conceal it for so long. When I first tried the product it was such a smooth and soft consistency and when I put it on my face it made my skin feel the same way. I noticed straight away that it indeed minimized the look of my pores and kept the same appearance when I applied my makeup. I had the makeup on from 4pm to 10pm so 6 hours in total. I noticed my makeup did stay on longer and it still kept up the minimized pores effect. I did however notice that it wore out on the tip of my nose. I wore it again on the next day for the whole day and it still ended with the same results, mind you I do have dry to normal skin.
I’m quite happy with this perches as it has stuck to what it claims to do on the packet witch it last up to 8 hours and minimize pores and it has defiantly done that. This primer I believe would also suit those with oily skin as it is oil free.

with the primer :)
